Sebastian de Toro

Sebastian has extensive experience in politics, business, civil society, and the trade union movement.

In politics, he has served as State Secretary for Energy, Digitalization, and Migration, and as a political advisor to the Ministry of Finance, the Swedish Parliament, and Region Stockholm.

He has worked as an economist for the Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO), a consultant at McKinsey & Co, and chief secretary in a government public inquiry.

He has authored numerous reports for the trade union movement, government public inquiries, and think tanks.

He also has experience of board work as a board member of Folkets Hus och Parker and as chairman of Programbolaget.

During his time at New Republic, he has worked with large private and state-owned companies, both Swedish and international, in the energy and forestry sectors and private equity companies. His assignments have ranged from reviewing political and regulatory aspects of commercial significance to scenario analyses and market analyses.

Sebastian holds a degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.
